About Us

"People First Disability Services" is a dedicated provider of National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supports, committed to empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. The NDIS represents a great opportunity for many people with disabilities to get reliable, practical support they need to move forward in life. However, navigating the NDIS can be complex, with so many options for support that it can feel overwhelming.

As a support coordinator, I offer a down-to-earth and friendly approach, backed by understanding and expertise gained through experience. I take the time to get to know my participants and connect them with the services they need to make the most out of their plans and achieve their goals. Capacity building is essential for my participants, and I enjoy working with them to achieve this.

Here's how I can assist my participants as a Support Coordinator:

  1. Navigate the NDIS: Helping participants understand the NDIS and what's available to them in their plan.
  2. Maximize Plan Impact: Ensuring participants get maximum impact from their plan to achieve their goals sooner.
  3. Explore Service Options: Connecting participants with quality services available in their plan and local community.
  4. Build Skills and Confidence: Supporting participants in building their skills and confidence towards further independence.
  5. Review Services: Regularly reviewing services to ensure they still meet participants needs.
  6. Address Concerns: Assisting participants in discussing concerns with providers or transitioning to new ones if necessary.
  7. Prepare for Reviews: Helping participants prepare for plan reviews by collecting evidence, compiling reports, and attending meetings.
  8. Address Changes: Initiating changes to funding or services if participants circumstance change.
  9. Resolve Issues: Addressing day-to-day and complex issues that may arise.
  10. Negotiate Agreements: Negotiating service agreements with providers.
  11. Facilitate Communication: Mediating and facilitating clear, open, and transparent communication between stakeholders.
